In Mafia Wars on Facebook. how do I stop the bleeding when I’m away?

When I’m not playing my player is constantly getting robbed, or fought resulting in me losing health or money? At the present time, I notice I must check the game every 8 hours or so because I’m afraid of getting killed.

Is there a way of going into ‘hibernation’ or some sort of mode where I’m not worried about getting hurt or killed. If I take off for a 1 week vacation I don’t want to be checking my Mafia Wars game every couple of hours.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Vacation mode.. you player won’t be attacked or robbed..
Just don’t play that game.
