For the game/app mafia wars for myspace, what does the attack/defense strength upgrades actually do?

Here’s your answers:
Attack strength – is the strength you and your mafia members have against the other mafias when you fight.
Defense strength – is how strong your defense is against attacks during a fight with other mafias
Increasing both of these as you move up in levels is definitely worth it if you want to last throughtout the game.
Another thing worth increasing is your Stamina and health.
Stamina – is how many fights you are able to give. Increasing this increases the number of fights you can complete.
Health – is how long you can withstand the fights. Increasing this will help with fighting larger groups of people but be careful not to go to low in health or you might die.
