Why do people that aren’t from the westcoast think that they’re gangster?

gangster games
James asked:

I’ve lived in Los Angeles, California my whole life. However when I went to Montana with my family on a vacation I heard kids around 13 or 14 listening to The Game or some gangster music like that. I’m just curious do people from around my state have that big an impact throughout the country. I know that in places like New York, Harlem, Queens, there are also ghettoes. I’m just curious is being “gangster” like those thugs the new cool thing. Because I don’t think today’s youth gets that 4 year old boys lose their 19 year old fathers to gang rivalries or fights. Most of these people will leave you alone if your from their part of town or from their coast. But if you come in posing they’ll shoot you. So whats the mentality of those kids? That its cool for some parent to lose a son and a grandson before either of them turn 20. Whats the logic? I can’t really seem to figure it out.

The logic is..it’s LA…it’s exciting!……It’s different then Montana…..In the music there is a story!..in the story there is a message!……maybe they can relate..maybe they can’t!….

California..the 7th largest economy in the world!…….Yes we influence the GLOBE!……..we are a global trendsetter!….just like N.Y.

They think it’s cool to pretend to be like a gangster and say, “Dayyum, I stole some of my dad’s beer last night”

This is a personal answer because I grew up in the Southside of Chicago. I think that the people think that it’s cool to act all ghetto and play pretend. What they don’t know is what it is really like to grow up in the ghetto. You walk out your door and you pose the risk of getting shot up on the block. Those kids are just making fun of it thinking its cool to listen to the game when they don’t know what it really means or feels like to be part of the true ghetto. It pisses me off that this illicit stuff is fun but really, they wouldn’t survive a day in Compton, The Projects, Southside. They have no clue what life is like on the other side of the tracks, so they pretend.

Yes, it’s all across the country. Little white kids everywhere think that is the only way to be “cool.”

Unfortunately its not a new trend it has been the trend to be gangster for atleast 5 years now. The whole thing is commercialism thats why you have people like Kevin Federline that actually make money off of all this B.S. And by the way there is no logic when it comes to this issue thats part of the dang problem. This whole thing is preety dumb whats so cool about gangsters anyways. Oh yeah nothing. Wel they get to kick with their homies and loose women, probably smoke weed and drink have money. Yeah they also like to rebel against authority. Yeah I’ve been doing all those things for ears and I aint no gangster in me unless you f with my family. Buts that’s human nature not gangster

Peace
