Something I found out about my brother?

My brother is 18 years old. So, the other day I was playing games on his cell phone (with his permission) and he received a text message. So, out of my curiosity I read it (I know it’s an invasion of privacy but I couldn’t help). So, the message had a bunch of (I don’t know what the right term is and I really hope I don’t offend anyone) but I guess “gangster words”… So I read the outbox (which I think is the messages my brother would send to other people) and there were some messages that were normal, non-agressive ones, and other messages full of bad language and terms I’ve never even heard my brother say before (like they’re not over the top or anything) and he was talking as if he was a gangster, but the thing is he never acts like this around the family and I know absolutely this isn’t his normal self… I just seemed weird to me that my brother would act like this and pretend to be something he’s not.(especially since he’s 18, you know?)Any ideas and has this ever happened to you?
