Why Do Little Kids Try To Act Like Gangsters?

Seriously, They Just Dont Know What Their Getting Into, I Been Trough That Road And Trust Me It Aint Nothing Pretty, I Have Been To Jail, I’d Even Been Shot A Few Times, And They Killed Alot Of My Friends. I Been Outta The “Game” For A Long Time, Now Im Kinda What You Call A “Straight Man”. It Breaks My Heart Seeing All This 5th-11th Graders Try To Act Like A Gangster, Luckly I Got My 7th Grade Couzin Outta All That Stuff, Their Just Ruining Their Life Once You Get In Its A Catch 22 Eather You Lose Or You Lose. What Can I Do To Help Them Out? Plz Give Me Some Ideas Thanks
To Bob: I Didnt Completely Turn My Back To Violence, Ok I Already Left All That Life Style, But If Some One Comes Messing With My Family You Better Belive Some One Is Gona Get Hurt.
I Wouldnt Blame Hip/Rap Music Cause I Listen To It All The Time Matter Fact My Favorite Rapper Is Considered To Be A Hard-Core Gangbanger, And That Dosent Affected Me At All, The Only Reason I Went Down That Road, Was Cause They Killed My Best Friend Just To Jack Him, I Got Consumed In Hate, All I Could Think Was To Get Revenge On Him.

Become a public speaker, Go to the schools in your area and talk to the administration see if they will let you talk to the student body, what you have to say is important ! There may be some teenage gathering places you could go to to address the issue. Also most Churches have youth groups that would love to have you come in and speak to their kids about this. I give you praise for getting out of that lifestyle and your desire to stop other young people from making the same mistakes. Good luck in this endeavor.
Well where it is coming from is mostly their friends and hip-hop and rap music which are usually bad influences. In the songs, they make it all seem like a good thing and that it’s good to “hustle” and “pop caps.”
What you should do is become a positive rapper that raps about how these are bad.
A lot of kids listen to rap which is where all this is coming from so good luck!

Anyway, we all used to play “cowboys & Indians” when young, influenced by the cowboy films.
I suppose this has now translated into more dodgy games, again as seen on TV.
It seems only a step away before my sons ask for an AK47 for Christmas.
