High ping with some games online but not others?

I can play my ps3 online with no lag at all…….other pc games online no problems……but with medieval 2 total war online there is a large amout of lag and high ping…….why is this….will it be the same with empire total war?

Maybe the game server is far away. I don’t think you can fix that unless you shift to another country where it’s near the server.
Its because the servers you are connecting to are different types. Almost all playstation 3 servers are dedicated servers which are pretty much lag free. However, alot of pc and 360 games run off of p2p servers. p2p servers are alot slower and have a larger tendency to lag. It is not related to the distance of the server, just what type of server.
