What are some good multiplayer online games(PC) ?

I think battlefield has a good line of games that can be played multiplayer or singleplayer. Battlefield 1942 was really good in my opinion, but if your into newer games, then Battlefield 2 would be good for you.
American Army is free to play, so its one of those games that you can download, try it out and if you don’t like, simply uninstall it.
Unreal Tournament 2004 is certainly a great fast paced FPS online game. Lots of user content created for this game, its worth it if you like those run and gun type (more like CS, lesser like COD4) in terms of game pace.
Of course its not reality base, you use all sort of fancy laser gun and you have those deathmatch and capture the flag, in addition to strategy oriented game mode such as assult (achieving certain objective) or onslaught mode (controlling nodes to unsheild enemy core and destroy the core)
Unreal 3 is good too if you have good PC to run it smoothly, but opinions are divided, some like it, some hate it. Game modes are lesser, and so is the number of maps, due to the game being advance graphically, so developers decided that its hard to make as many map as they did with UT2004, but there’s a fair amout of fan made map of course.
Texas Hold ‘em is the only one I play, if I’m playing on line then it’s through my 360.
