Why is my internet connection slow but when i play online games its fine?

for some reason when i surf the web with firefox or internet explorer it is extremely slow but when i play online games like guild wars it runs smoothly with no lag. whats up!?

The speed of your internet connection and the speed you browse at aren’t the same thing. If you have a slow path to a web browser, and a fast path to a game server, the web site will seem slower than the game. Go to to check your connection speed. Anything past that is beyond anyone’s control – the internet routers control the paths.
