you should play some amazing non-board game games. like red china, where its dark and you hide Bible’s and try not to get caught with them. or do you love you neighbor. that’s a favorite at my youth group. Sardines is amazing fun in a big group. it’s where one person hides and where you find them, you stay there. the last person to join the group loses. idk. be creative.

A fun thing to do is get a group of 10 or so, have everyone get in a circle toe to heel, then have the group sit on each others knees. If you do it right, everyone will be able to sit comfortably. You can make it a competition and have several groups do this at the same time to see who can last longer.

Another game fun game is animal races. Split into two groups with one judge. Have the groups line up. The moderator will call out an animal and the first person in each line will race (maybe across a gym) while acting like that animal. It’s really fun when the judge gets creative with animals like an ostrich, walrus, or valoso raptor. Just be sure not to repeat animals!

Skit bags are always fun. Just get several grocery bags and fill them with 6 to 8 random items from around the house. Split into groups of 5 or 6 and give each group a bag. Let each group have 30 to 40 minutes to plan their skit, then get everyone back together and have each group perform their skits.

A favorite at our church activities is called “Do You Love Your Neighbor”. Have the entire group sit in chairs in a circle. Have one person be in the middle. Make sure that there are no empty chairs. The person in the middle will go up to a person in the circle and ask “Do you love your neighbor?” If the person says yes, the people to their immediate right and left will get up and switch seat. The person in the middle will try to steal one of these seats. If the person who was asked says no, then then they will say “But I do like people…” and fill in with, for example “people with blue eyes” or “people who like the Muppet’s”. Then everyone who fits that description will get up and try to find a new seat. The person in the middle will try to steal one of these open seats.

One last game is called “Honey If You Love Me”. The group sits in a circle on the floor. One person is in the middle. The person in the middle chooses a person in the circle and asks them “Honey, if you love me would you please, please smile?” The person who is asked replies “Honey, I love you but I just can’t smile.” This can be repeated up to three times. The goal is to get the person in the circle to smile. If they smile then the person in the middle takes their place and they go in the middle. If they don’t smile then the person in the middle has to try again. The only rule in trying to get someone to smile is that the person in the middle can’t touch them. Other that that, anything goes!

Have fun at your activity!
