How will online games affect my schoolwork?
GOT2NO asked:
I want to start playing Eve Online, but I’ll be a sophomore when school starts… As long as i put my schoolwork first, and make sure i study before i play each night, and make sure i get to bed on time, I don’t see how it could affect my grades(I’m Top of my class), my social life, maybe but it’ll be cool talking to people in game… My version of AIM…

I’d just like to know your thoughts, although If someone (like in a previous post) Thinks that online gaming is a disease, please go shoot yourself!
LOL Thanks! Appreciate it!

that’d work, but u could also play first, just as long as u make sure u study, cuz then u’ll remember what u studyed for the next day. if u play last u might not remember what u studyed befor
I think if you really focus you should be fine, as long as you participate in sports and have real life freinds that you keep in touch with. however, if you are really into that game, your thoughts will wando over to it and it will be harder to focus. games are a disease, and i suffer from it too! (but a very good disease!)
if you trust yourself that you will be focused and healthy, then sure why not? try it out but if it doesnt work you may have to only play on the weekends or something.
If you scheduled your time properly and put homework as your number one priority, I think it wouldn’t matter that much if you play a little each night.
I can see that you care about your homework very much – that’s why you’re the top of your class ^^ l0lx
Anyway, don’t think playing online game will affect much of your schoolwork.
Your answer is the best one..You already know the answer!
to each their own
From my experience i played alot of video games with small breaks. I did poorly but I managed to get better grades. I hoped this helped!
Online games will kill your life. Though not in that kind of Jack Thompson way. I mean from your description it sounds like you’ll do fine, just focus on your work and play in spare time. But as a fellow online gamer, if you get hooked, there’s really no letting go. There’s always one more level, one more kill, one more item. But hey, honestly, I say go for it. You’ll probably be fine in school and have a blast playing the game. But for other people that aren’t doing so well already, online games can and will cut them away from the rest of the world (true story about my older brother). But as I said, in your case, you’ll be fine. Besides, gaming is a great release for energy, anger, excitement, hell make some friends and it’s great for just about anything. If you do go for it and end up playing more stuff, my gamertag’s floackle, and I’m more then willing to play some games with you. Good luck in school and the game, and just don’t get sucked up.
Well, they may make you want to play video games more than do homework. The most you should play everyday is maybe 30 min. Or if you think you can really take it then an 60 min. a day. You’ve got to remember that schoolwork is better than playing games on the computer. If you study harder then you will get smarter and get a better job. Also, try not to play any games when there is a big test coming up. It dosn’t really matter if you play computer games. You can those games any time but school can cost a lot of money when you’re in college and you don’t study hard enough you won’t pass. Also, if you don’t get good grades in high school (if you are in high school) then you won’t go to a good college. You don’t want to be studying at 2:00 A.M studying because you spent the past few hours playing video games. I help you do well in school!
i play halo alot and i’ve caught myself saying “rape” when i’m not playing lol
